Wagemaekers Victor was born in Gannshoren, Belgium on September 5, 1876.
He was a Belgian realist painter and watercolourist of landscapes, village views, farm and interior scenes.
His first exhibition with the noted group Le Sillon was in 1899. In 1900, he began studying with the famed artist Franz Courtens. He painted extensively throughout his native Belgium, including Brussels and its suburbs, the Campine region and the Grimbergen countryside.
A retrospective of his work was held at the Center of Art in Koekelberg in 1965, and today his pieces are in numerous private and public collections, including museums in Antwerp and Turnout.
He died in 1953 in Brussels. Today, his watercolours are especially prized.
